Where Are Jeeps Made?

2020 Jeep Wrangler On The Beach

The automobile has been a part of American culture for more than 100 years. And the Jeep brand has been staunchly American since its founding nearly a century ago. Jeep vehicles have improved, gotten more prominent, and produced larger models in the past few decades, and the company’s tradition of excellence and engineering continues to move forward for Port Lavaca drivers and shoppers in America.

Jeep became part of the Stellantis company in 2021. The company is based in Amsterdam, but the parent company of Jeep has remained committed to keeping the automotive brand assembled in America.

Find out more about where Jeeps are made and Jeep’s origins in this handy guide from %%di_name%.

Jeep’s Origin Country

The Jeep origin story started in 1940 when a company named Willys produced a light reconnaissance vehicle for the U.S. military to help the war effort. The manufacturer produced 16,000 vehicles for the U.S. Army. Following the war, the manufacturer converted its Toledo, Ohio, manufacturing plant to produce civilian models for American families.

Is Jeep made in America today? Yes! In fact, some Jeep models are still made in Toledo today, even more than 80 years later.
