Things to Do in Aransas Pass for the Holidays

Right now we’re enjoying the fall weather, but before we know it, we’ll be eating turkeys, gathering around the fire, and putting up holiday decorations. As the holiday season approaches, we know that couples, families, and friends from Corpus Christi to Kingsville will be looking for festivities. That’s why the team at Allen Samuels CDJR Aransas Pass has put together a list of our favorite things to do in Aransas Pass for the holidays.
Saltwater Christmas Illuminated Parade
On December 7th, Port Lavaca-area families can make their way to the Saltwater Christmas Illuminated Parade. The parade begins at 6:30 p.m., and this event is fun for the whole family. In addition to watching the parade, you can enjoy Christmas caroling, cookie decorating, activity booth, and a bike giveaway. Bring your best holiday cheer for pictures with Santa too!
Krampus 5K & 10K Virtual Race
Runners will be excited to participate in the holiday activity! A virtual race is one that you run (or walk) by yourself or with friends. You choose the location and course and record your time, which you then send in to the organizer, Virtual Run Events. It’s $18 to sign up for your bib, medal, and shipping, and 15% of your entry fee will be donated to the Crohn’s and Colitis Foundation. You can complete the Krampus 5K or 10K anytime in December, but we recommend finishing before Krampus Night, the night before December 6th.
Lighted Boat Parade
On December 1st, you can head over to the Conn Brown Harbor for the 17th Annual Lighted Boat Parade. Decorate a boat to join the parade or simply watching the brightly light boats float past in celebration. While you’re out on the town, check out one of the top five restaurants in Aransas Pass.
A Christmas Carol
Enjoy a date night, night out with friends, or a family outing to see Charles Dickens’s A Christmas Carol at the Harbor Playhouse in nearby Corpus Christi. Get into the holiday spirit as you watch this classic tale unfold on the stage, and enjoy the journey of Ebenezer Scrooge as he meets the ghosts of Christmas Past, Present, and Future. A Christmas Carol runs through December 16th, and performances are held Fridays and Saturdays at 7:30 p.m. and Sundays at 2:30 p.m.
